Bowl

Bungalow Pottery is a studio pottery, meaning that it's mainly a one-man operation. I aim to make pots that will be used, because I believe it's enjoyable and valuable to handle hand crafted, individually made objects on a daily basis. Ceramic objects for the living-room mantle have their place as well, but my focus is on vases and pots for the table that can be part of your routine.

Almost all of my pieces start on the wheel. Some are simply hand thrown and trimmed while others, like the trays and my boat shaped platter, are hand built from thrown slabs.

Pitchers

I usually work in repetitive sets of eight to several dozen and fire about every two weeks, sometimes with a double firing if I have more work than fits in one kiln load. Hence each piece is both unique and part of a group. Each year I introduce new shapes and forms with the aim of having about a third of the gallery looking fresh for the season.

CasseroleWhile each pot from Bungalow Pottery is a unique piece of craft, it is at the same time functional and made for everyday (ab)use. I make my pots from white stoneware and domestic porcelain, and high fire for strength and beauty. The glazes are formulated to be food safe and not to craze, creating a durable pot that can be used in the dishwasher and microwave. Short of dropping a piece on the floor you should enjoy many years of service.
